BUCK was approached by Hennessy and the NBA to create a new commercial that would take viewers on a journey through the worlds of Hennessy, basketball, and culture. Despite the tight deadline of less than three weeks, we were able to deliver the final product.
Hennessy NBA 2.0: The New Line
In the fall of 2020, Hennessy released their second collaboration with the NBA. Building upon our previous experience, we continued to use the visual motif of lines as a guiding thread to develop the story. Breaking away from the previous black and white visual style, we incorporated color to create a more inclusive environment, inviting everyone to join in on the experience. It was a captivating journey.
Initially, my focus was to capture the flow and rhythm of the spot. During the pre-production phase, the Creative Director referred to my initial storyboard/slap comp. Later on, when I joined the production team, my primary focus was on developing the transition from the paint shot to the court, as well as the burst moment.
